Heritage
The papermill Herisem and former cardboard factory Winderickx is a former 19th-century industrial complex that grew out of an old paper mill, which was raised in 1536.
Local beers
Geuze is a typical local beer that is made by blending young and older lambics and bottled for a second fermentation. Beersel hosts several Geuze breweries that that can be visited on appointment:

Hallerbos
Hallerbos – ‘The Blue Forest’ – is the most important and most extensive forest area between Zenne and Zoniën. The forest is a crowd favourite thanks to the beautiful purple carpet of bluebells, which bloom around mid-April.
